Same Old Song

“'Same Old Song’ came together at the end of a long New York summer, I’d experienced heartbreak for the first time and was at that stage where rethinking everything had become part of my daily ritual. ‘Same Old Song’ is kind of a plea for reconsideration, even if I knew that wasn’t best for me. Like, ‘don’t you want to go back to the same old song and dance!’ It was difficult to admit that out loud, and I think the song has this really honest shamefulness about it that I’ve come to love—it brings me back to that moment.”  Lila Drew

PRESS

Wine “an infectiously joyous track, swirling with woozy instrumentation and witty lyricism.”

"Lila Drew doesn’t want to fall into the “Same Old Song” on this love plea. With this gentle confession, the singer-songwriter details heartbreak becoming part of her daily ritual, fuelling a deeper desire for the love to be reconsidered rather than dismissed. Driven by a pulsing piano melody, it’s country-esque, with a folky touch and an alt-rock punch."

"There’s a real lyrical flair to Lila’s work, with her passion for words ringing out with potent depth.
New release ‘Same Old Song’ is out now, and it illustrates Lila Drew’s passion for world-building, with the singer seeming to truly inhabit her vocal line."

"Her music is rooted in personal storytelling and layered with rich sonic textures."

"The collaboration brings together Lila’s emotionally resonant songwriting, which she has been honing since childhood and which has grown alongside a deep engagement with poetry, and DiSerafino’s ear for visceral sonic detail"
